If you’re anything like me, you are either going stir crazy at home with your dog, found another random hobby to take up, or trying to find the next best workout. Regardless of what you are doing, music is a cure for all moods. Whether you are feeling nostalgic and looking for some throwbacks, or hype music for the workout you are about to smash, or just ready for some chill music for the facetime date night, the following 3 for 3 (Three Moods | Three Playlists) will help you beat that quarantine rut!
Let us take a step back and think about songs that remind us of “precedented” times. I am talking about way back when you were listening to some UB40, or TLC, Nirvana, or an all-time favorite, Bob Dylan! The following playlist will cover your nostalgic mood that I think many of us find ourselves in these days. Whether you are preparing for your morning routine before work begins, listening to some tunes during your weekend and mask toting trip to the farmer’s market (social distancing and all) or just daydreaming about the good times, the following playlist is bound to pull you out of your quarantine daze (days – get it? 😏).
When looking for a great workout playlist keeps my energy up while doing my morning workouts, and without coffee…I knew I didn’t need to look any further when I found the hype playlist with the fire emoji in the title itself! From Travis Scott, Gunna and Migos alone, I knew I was going to crush my workout. This playlist is also great when you are trying to push yourself to finish that project you were working on, or creating that presentation for your boss. Or maybe, you are feeling hype because you are a badass parent after managing a hectic day of work and kids! No matter what the situation is, you can’t go wrong with some Drake.
Last, but certainly not least, is my go-to station for the chill mood. I listen to Soulection Radio, a weekly curated playlist by the Soulection team member Joe Kay. Each week, Soulection Radio brings easy listening to my ears while I am cooking dinner during a weeknight, taking a long walk with my dog, or maybe even enjoying a glass of wine (or ✌️).
Episode 466 has definitely been one of my favorites. Featuring R&B artists new and old, to smooth reggae putting everyone in the most chill mood. The best part is each episode sits at just about 2 hours, giving you ample time to wind down, answer a couple more emails, maybe even grab another glass of wine, all while the chill playlist fills your ears or room.
